About Me

I am David Charles Davidson Dixon (DCD Dixon)

Hello and welcome to my web site…

This is without a doubt the fulfillment of a dream and one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. Overcoming fears is what I’ve been doing to literally change my life.

I was about twelve when I saw the television premiere of The Exorcist. It scared me so bad, that foggy night, I sprinted all the way home. To overcome that fear I reasoned it out…someone wrote a book, another person wrote a screenplay, another group made a movie that got into a little fat kid's head so much that he was MADE to sprint home by a bunch of people he had never met. I wanted to do THAT, invoke a feeling in others! After high school and college where I studied photography, it really became a passion, I took my degree and put those skills to work as an award-winning broadcast photojournalist and making commercials and shows for the next 30 years. Through some great times and some bad, photography has always been there. I found though, that my perspective was always looking for the next HORROR so I could tell its story, and man were there a few I just couldn’t shake. I realized I was in the grip of addiction and that I had to make a change.

As my life has changed, so has my perspective. In my life now, as I try to practice open-mindedness, intention, peace, and love I am always trying to grow in a relationship with my Higher Power, who I now know is the creator of all. I’m beginning to see it…and photograph it too.

I’ve been encouraged to share these journeys and images.

Surrounding myself with art and beauty began to be a way of life and recovery for me. When I walk through my house, I want to be reminded of the beauty of the world and bring it into my home. I enjoy big windows, natural elements like wood, stone, sky & water. I also discovered the art of architecture and Frank Lloyd Wright who worked those elements into his ideas. So, my photographs, I pray will be used in your house or building to give a sense of natural beauty, light and help you recognize it in your day. As you walk by my art, I hope it stands as a reminder that there is a higher power, of the beauty that THEY have created, and it is everywhere...if we take a moment and look at life with a new perspective. Heart Hearing, Heart Seeing… Noticing Gods beauty and sharing it.
